Energetic Flow
The vibration and flow of Universal Energy is almost unimaginable in scope, affecting all and everything including the known, unknown and inconceivable. We are recipients of Energetic Flow and we are the Flow itself. The paradigm of paradox is nearly impossible to comprehend and maddeningly difficult to describe, yet many of us strive to do both for the benefit of ourselves and our fellow humans.
What follows is a small portion, a spec, a milli-micron of the concept of Universal Flow, specifically as it relates to the language of Tarot.
Universal Intelligence, God, Source, Mother Earth, Goddess, Higher Power – whatever the preference, communicates guidance and reassurance by impressing images, impulses, intuition and desires into our personal energetic spheres. In addition, present energies may be contributed by Angels, Spirit Guides, Ascended Masters and formerly embodied humans taking an interest in our life stream for some reason. Energies belonging to our fellow humans may also take up residence in our sphere, invited or not.
Energies present at any point in time may be lingering from a recent experience, arriving in preparation of events just around the corner, or hanging around for a while out of habit, patterned response or as a source of familiarity and comfort.
When sitting for a reading, the energies revealed through Tarot symbology are being brought to the attention of the person receiving the reading by the recipients themselves. The Reader acts as an interpreter, guided through intuition and experience in deciphering the messages the Sitter is bringing to their own attention.
When impressions arrive from Source, they are always clear and pure, pointing in a direction that leads to the highest good for all with the purpose of the ascension of Spirit – the only purpose there is. Short work could be made of any endeavor if we could but follow Universal guidance instinctively. The seductive quality of life on Earth coupled with the triumph of free will in each and every instance, weave a tangled web of experiences – as is appropriate because, once embodied, the most immediate purpose becomes the experience itself.
The Flow of Universal energy travels into and through our energetic sphere in a particular way, utilizing the portals of our seven primary chakra centers as the communication highway. As with Source energy, chakra centers are a world unto themselves. Only the aspects that intersect with communication through the language of Tarot are considered here.
Crown Chakra
Sahasrara
Energetic impressions are delivered to our personal energy sphere through Crown Chakra. This communication from Spirit is independent of the belief structure of the recipient and cannot be declined. One need not acknowledge, contemplate or understand the existence of underground plumbing for example, in order to benefit from its work. Conversely, when we do acknowledge and become curious about this vast contribution to our life experience, inquiry can become more directed and useful as we seek to create satisfying life experiences.
Energetic impression arrives in the form of images, intuition, impulses and desires. This benevolent flow of abundance, inspiration and love is directed toward us in every moment. Through the expression of free will, however, it is our choice whether or not we will experience the energetic flow as delivered.
Third Eye Chakra

Source Energy moves from Crown to Third Eye Chakra, while maintaining the form of images, intuition, impulse and desire. This is the language of symbology and also the language of Tarot and of the sub-conscious mind. In this second level, aspects of our personal being act upon clear and pure impressions from Source, inserting some level of personal spin into the impressions. Events from early life, trauma, affirmations and cultural and family heritage are among the things present and active in our sub-conscious minds. If we suspect that Universal Intelligence is delivering anything other than abundance, love and inspiration, it is actually our sub-conscious mind coloring our perception, and inquiry into any misinterpretation of this nature can be fruitful in yielding joy and peace of mind.
Throat Chakra

It is in this third portal of Flow, Throat Chakra, that language is ascribed to some, but not nearly all, of the impressions delivered from Spirit. It is language that introduces images, intuition, impulses and desire to our conscious minds, and here that we first pass judgement about the validity of the information we receive and then make real through language. This is the mechanism through which it is said we create our own reality.
Depending on which aspects of Flow are denied, misinterpreted or misunderstood, and the extent to which we assert aspects of our personality, reactions to past experiences, inherited and cultural bias and unwillingness or inability to remain open to Spiritual guidance, that our free will can come to dominate the pure and loving energetic Flow of Universal Intelligence. For example, if we are delivered an impulse to share our abundance with others, even to the point of a perceived threat to our own well-being, but past experiences or cultural discouragement suggest that it is not a wise course of action, our free will could determine that, in order to avoid the fear of an experience of lack, the more prudent course of action would be to withhold. We win every battle, as Universal Intelligence does not engage in such wars. An impulse to express generosity will continue to flow toward us endlessly, and at any point – or no point – we can come to put our trust in abundance and share without reservation.
Heart Chakra

Now that the impressions sent by Universal Intelligence have been made real in our human experience, though altered from the purified state in which they arrived, it is in this fourth center, Heart Chakra, that feelings and thoughts engage. Emotion takes precedent without exception and is the most accurate means of assessment of intuition, impulses and desires made manifest through language in our conscious minds.
Intellect in the form of thoughts then emerge in an effort to make sense of these emotions, as it simultaneously struggles endlessly to assert itself as leader. The intellect is a powerful tool, needed and necessary to survive and thrive in the human experience. Intellect however, is not a direct recipient of Universal Flow and it is appropriate therefore, that emotion be allowed to lead the way. If intellect is allowed to dominate or overpower emotion, suffering is created - a clear sign that Flow is being denied. Spiritual practices, therapy and physical movement are ways to free emotion from the grip of intellect. The thinking mind is rarely malevolent in its intent, seeking only to protect and serve as best it can. However, when one becomes more adept in following guidance through accessing and understanding emotion, experiences can become more harmonious and joyful overall. In other words, we can more easily go with the Flow.
Solar Plexus Chakra

In this, the fifth chakra center, Universal Flow is expressed in physical form. Our vitality, motivation, levels of interest and modes of expression manifest and express in our physical bodies. Clear and pure impressions delivered from Universal Intelligence have been interpreted and acted upon already by Third Eye, Throat and Heart, and any misunderstanding, misinterpretation or denial may reveal in irrefutable ways in the form of depression, anxiety, disease or addiction. Free flowing energetic impulse provides energy, motivation, creative expression and joy. Reconnection with the energetic flow can be approached from the bottom up or from the top down. This means that if we seek to reinterpret misconceptions of Spiritual impression and align with Flow our physical bodies can recover and express more energetically. Similarly, if we strive to increase motivation, creative expression and joy, misunderstanding and misinterpretation can re-align.
Sacral Chakra
Svadhishthana
It is from our sixth chakra that our personal flow of energy first moves outside our personal sphere to our close and personal one-on-one relationships. Sexuality, sensuality, partnership, friendship, inter-personal expressions of love and acceptance and emotional bonding are centered here. Included is our personal relationship with Spirit which is shared as creative expression, physical movement in the form of dance or athletics, through focused and absorbing conceptual interaction as in mathematics or scientific experimentation and many, many more. Of course, whatever modifications prior centers have exacted on the clear and pure impressions from Spirit are also passed along and are now revealed to others to be accepted, rejected, praised or reviled. These close and personal relationships are important to help us see and understand our own energetic composition as the other reacts and responds to our energetic expressions.
Root Chakra
Muladhara
It is from here, the seventh chakra, that our personal energies now move out to our communities. Families, friends, social groups, neighborhoods, cities, countries – all of it. Our energetic contribution to the world around us is impactful and meaningful, no matter how insignificant we may sometimes feel. We affect others, including the animal kingdom, plants and trees and even the earth itself in ways in which we are largely unaware. The energies of all entwine, combine, intersect and blend in a dizzying swirl of Flow and Divine Grace.
As was mentioned at the beginning and bears repeating, this is but one aspect of the action and function taking place in the world of each chakra center. Other schools of thought and endeavor such as yoga, healing, personal power, protection, astral projection and myriad other undertakings make use of these astonishing energetic centers.
